"“Underneath all the distress, partners are asking each other: Can I count on you, depend on you? Are you there for me? Will you respond to me when I need, when I call? Do I matter to you? Am I valued and accepted by you? Do you need me, rely on me? The anger, the criticism, the demands, are really cries to their lovers, calls to stir their hearts, to draw their mates back in emotionally and reestablish a sense of safe connection.”
“What can make a marriage work is surprisingly simple. Happily married couples aren't smarter, richer or more psychologically astute than others. But in their day-to-day lives, they have hit upon a dynamic that keeps their negative thoughts and feelings about each other (which all couples have) from overwhelming their positive ones. They have what I call an emotionally intelligent marriage.”
“Working briefly on your marriage every day will do more for your health and longevity than working out at a health club.”
Frequently Asked Questions
What is included?
What do workshop sessions entail?
In the workshop sessions we will teach you skills that have been proven to work with couples that are having issues with communication and connection. You will get the opportunity to practice these skills throughout the weekend.
Will we be doing couples therapy sessions just as a couple?
Due to time constraints of the weekend we won’t have time to do individual couple sessions with each couple. However, the trainers will be available to answer questions between sessions and when possible can provide some informal coaching sessions. They will also be available to schedule couples therapy sessions post retreat to continue the work you have started at the retreat.
Do you offer payment plans?
We offer installment plans ahead of the retreat. We have the option to pay in two payments or three. Payments are paid monthly until the total cost is paid. Total cost must be paid in full prior to the retreat.
